The client for this project is Muze Beauty, a beauty service provider.
The objective of this project was to design and build a website for Muze Beauty, they currently utilize Instagram as their main form of advertising and client communication but this is no longer viable.
The site was built using WordPress and needed to showcase the available services , provide insights into the company itself and include high quality imagery.
By utilising WordPress, the development also aimed to provide the client with the ability to add, edit, and delete certain content on the site without affecting its styling.
*Muze Beauty is a fictional company created solely for this educational project*
Muze Beauty was established in 2021 after the pandemic, with a goal of offering services that help people feel better after a stressful time.
They provide a variety of beauty-based services and have designed their branding to reflect this vision, creating a comforting atmosphere.
They currently offer services such as makeup application, beauty treatments (e.g., brow shaping, tinting), lash treatments, and tanning options. However, they are looking to expand into other services in the future.

A site that reflects the brand’s aesthetic.
Showcase the available services.
A contact form (in time becoming a booking system).
Display customer testimonials.
Simple navigation that won’t be confusing for new users.

The website design integrated the brand's existing typeface for headers, along with a complementary sans serif option for smaller headers and main content.
This underwent iterative testing to ensure a cohesive fit with the brand while maintaining legibility across the site. The typography plan, crafted with a mobile-first approach, guaranteed optimal readability for all text sizes.

For the colour palette, thorough consideration led to a final selection.
This included three of the brand's established colours, along with a newly introduced sage green, responding to client consultation.
The green hue was thoughtfully integrated for hover effects, delivering a visual cue to users during interactions.

Beginning with a fresh site devoid of content, collaboration with the client yielded an initial page list and content requirements.
This formed the foundation for the site map and use cases, strategically determining the optimal site structure.

The well-received low-fidelity wireframes garnered positive feedback from potential users and the client alike. It was universally agreed that these pages effectively served visitors' needs and offered intuitive navigation.

Expanding on the feedback from the low-fidelity wireframes, mid-range versions were developed.
These showcased the design in harmony with the colour palette, offering the client a more vivid visualization.
While maintaining consistency, minor adjustments were made, and the testimonial section's appearance was suggested in two styles for consideration.
Presented to the client, the mid-range wireframes received favorable responses, though minor concerns were identified. These included font adjustments, the enhancement of service layout, and the inclusion of the cancellation policy in the FAQs with links on the service pages.

To bring the design closer to its final form, wireframes were refined based on the feedback. The design aligned well with the brief, yet the client highlighted a few final adjustments.
These encompassed optimizing the call to action text and button on the landing page for readability, introducing a brief message before the contact information, and setting a character limit for testimonials to ensure legibility while maintaining the Imbue font.
Due to time constraints, these refinements were implemented during the build phase.

Aspects of the site require Muze Beauty to edit, delete and add content to sections of the site.
It was established that they would do this to the following elements.
These custom sections were created using varying WordPress plugins and that content was then pre-styled to automatically display correctly on the site when additional items were added.
This allows Muze Beauty to simply add the required information into the created form field as well as any required images and then save the content.
Please note, this is just a mockup of the final design as the live version of the site was only up for a short period of time and working examples were not captured.
